- Sitting at a PC and reading (which is something most people aren't comfortable doing)
- Reading via a PDA (which most people don't have)
What you need
- Source material
- An iPod or PSP
- Text to Jpeg files for PSP (Mirrors 1 2 3)(v2.1.1)
After you have your source (and Txt2Jpeg)
- Unzip Txt2Jpg
- Click File-> "Open Textfile"
- Locate your .txt
- Click Edit-> "Easy Config"
- Change the output size to "320x240" (for iPods)
- Select you output folder and click start
There are a few ways to "dress up" the image by using backrounds and changing the font size. My favorite of which is using this backround and changing the font to white 10pt Trebuchet MS.
After which you'll be left with an image that looks like this

(On a side note, this method also works on cell phones via the Orb service, and can also be used to keep track of phone numbers and address)
