Litlle Bit Of Fact Checking

Heya guys, I haven't been on myspace in about a week so I just found out about this one.

I received about 7 bulletins this week stating that Myspace.com is close to rolling out a subscription based model.

Just so you guys know the "larger company" that purchased Myspace.com is call News Corp., a company whose annual revenue tops right at 23.8 billion USD. The company's holdings span nearly the entire gamut of media.

The "acquisition" of Myspace by News Corp. took place in Q1 2006. And It's my congeture that although News Corp. (and especially Fox News in particular) do occasionally seem to have their head up their asses, they are NOT stupid. Rupert Murdoch doesn't seem the type to purchase a company for nearly a billion dollars and let it tank by ostracizing their entire user base. It makes much more sense (in my personal opinion) to continue to use advertising based revenue, because let's face it, selling ads is what Fox does.

In fact I have no IDEA where this story could have come from, even a search of the press releases for the last two months (from Cnet, News Corp. And Myspace itself) has turned up no relevant data. The only thing that could have come close is a story is an entry by Marilyn Z. Carolyn. And she is just a random blogger from the Czetch Republic.
